Neighborhood Community Outreach Meetings
During the month of July, join the Wichita Downtown Development Corporation, City of Wichita, and Visioneering Wichita as they present the draft Master Plan to communities in and around Wichita. This is an opportunity to provide feedback to the Goody Clancy team as they prepare the final plan to be presented in September. All meetings begin at 7:00 pm

July 7: Atwater Neighborhood City Hall (2755 E. 19th St. N.)

July 12: Haysville Public Library (210 S. Hays)

July 13: Bel Aire City Hall (7651 E. Central Park Ave.)

Bags to Riches

Bags to Riches is a benefit for Catholic Charities Harbor House and St. Anthony Family Shelter. It will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 6-8 p.m at the WaterWalk Plaza Garden Area (515 S Main Ave). There will be a silent auction of bags, purses, accessories, luggage and more! Beer, wine and appetizers will be served

Let's Break a Guinness World Record!

Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park in Derby will be the only Sedgwick County site of the World's Largest Swimming Lesson.

Starting promptly at 9 a.m. on Thursday, children ages 4 and up will participate in a free swimming lesson. The children will take part in a lesson that occurs simultaneously across four continents with the hope of breaking a Guinness World Record. The event was created to demonstrate the importance of teaching children to swim.

Children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the water park, 1900 E. James St. in Derby. For more information, contact aquatic director Darcie Parkhurst at Darcie@DerbyRec.com or call 316-788-3781.
